One Response to DNC: Barack Obama acceptance speech at Mile High

  1. Jared T. says:

In the 2008 United States Presidential candidate acceptance speeches, Senator John McCain and Senator Barack Obama both accepted the candidacy in a televised speech in front of millions of viewers. While viewing the speech each of the candidates can be analyzed to see which Presidential candidate provided a better speech based on their appearance and presentation rather than the actual topics they discuss throughout their speeches. Both nominees for the presidency are well presented and provide many details to their goals which vary in many aspects yet they both do it in extremely different ways. The three aspects that can be most easily analyzed are the candidate’s attire and mannerisms, background and stage setup, and the people they address in the opening portion of their speech as well as the people that are in attendance at their speech. In all three aspects it can be concluded that Senator Obama proved to be more successful in conveying to his viewers that his appearance and how he conducted his argument was just as important as how his actual goals were in his overall speech. With this in mind it is apparent that Senator Obama provided his viewers with a more visually inclined performance which may be an important aspect in whether or not he will be the next President of the United States due to the fact that he attracts more viewers.
