John McCain’s negative ad compares Barack Obama to Moses + Jesus, mockingly called “The One”

News: The McCain camp continues its onslaught of negative ads aimed solely at attacking Barack Obama, instead of defining John McCain’s own character. The one above is filled with religious overtones of “The One”–you can insert the word “chosen” or “annointed” in there. The ad below insinuates that Barack Obama forgot about Latin America in his speech in Berlin.

The Obama camp has responded once about the “Low Road” tactics of the McCain camp with the video below.

Brave New Pac also has a response ad to McCain’s negative ads:

Analysis: That’s 8 negative attack ads from the McCain camp against Obama in the last 2 weeks. These negative ads have generated several million views on YouTube and are, by far, John McCain’s most viewed videos thus far. The Obama camp has only 1 video response so far to these attack ads.

UPDATE: Sure enough, the Obama camp has fired enough another response to McCain’s negative ads.  The negative ads may be backfiring on McCain.  Apparently, they may be helping to increase donations and volunteers to Obama. Here’s David Plouffe, the campaign manager speaking:

Judging from the trumped up outrage and indignation of Obama and his bloggers, over Senator McCain’s Moses comparison … I’d say that Senator McCain struck a nerve. It also shows that Obama is a pompous narcissist, who takes himself way too serious, and has no sense of humor. Besides, when someone walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck … they shouldn’t flip out when someone calls them a duck … and, in this case of self Idolatry, and virtual worship by his followers, Obama puts Huey, Dooey, and Louie to shame.

Shows just how desparate McCain really is. It proves exactly what Obama has been saying all along they have not talked about any real issues just using scare tactics. The questions of is Obama ready to lead or is he a risky candidate is really a non issue, he may be risky, but we are gonna have to take some risk to get us out of the huge mess Dick Cheney’s puppet George Bush has put us in. McCains ad is just the sign of a desparate old man trying anything to scare us.

Any Christian who calls him or herself a Democrat (or vise versa) should check out this link. It’s a great analysis of this ad and near the bottom is a break-down of all the crazy illusions to the rapture, the Left Behind series, Obama being the anti-Christ, Revelation, and a plethora of other religious icons and imagery. This ad isn’t a joke and it was not made light-heartedly, as the McCain camp has said. Every word and scene was deliberate and potentially damaging to the Obama campaign because it feeds on people’s misguided fears. Worth a look: http://faithfuldemocrats.com/content/view/778/92/

Thanks Kate, I am a Christian and I am so disgusted with McCain, I vote how I want, I am registered Democrat. I love this website. I have felt for many years that the current movement of evangelical leaders has been to grasp onto any Republican leader, just because he / she is pro- life. I think that this is not very responsible, we should be demanding candidates have a higher standard, not in one issue, but in the way they live their life, who they are representing, does this reflect Godly leadership, not just one issue such as pro-life. Many vote just because of this one issue. However, life does not end with saving a baby from abortion. It starts with that, but the rest of their campaign is about taking away health care, money for public schools, feeding the oil companies and pollution, all of these contribute to the death of the health of the babies that are spared. I am actually pro-life, but I can’t with any type of peace vote for McCain, I am not that thrilled with any of the candidates actually they are both a mess. But McCain although conservative hardly represents any of the biblical fruits of the spirit. My opinion is that if Jesus were to really come back right now, most of our politicians would be left behind. When Jesus was preaching about being the sons of devils, he was talking to people who believed that they were living right, but they were so arrogant, so heartless, so full of greed and corriuption, self preservation and power… sound familiar?
